Minutes =

Attendees: EricP, Matthias, Oktie, David, Xiao, Huijin, Janos, Bin, Anja, Michel, Elgar, Egon, Susie

  • We don't seem to have Francois Scharffe to talk about the Data Interlinking Track, Ontology Alignment Evalutation Initiative
  • Xiao presents on Chem2Bio2RDF
  • Susie: scalability of faceted navigation interface?
  • David: currently poor, but are getting a bigger box
  • Bin: the virtuoso performance is good, you can test here at http://cheminfov.informatics.indiana.edu:8890/sparql using cases: http://chem2bio2rdf.wikispaces.com/multiple+sources
  • David: Chem2Bio2RDF is interested in exploring ranking of paths through data, and strengthening the connection between compounds and targets as pharma has indicated that this would be useful. Work is very use case focused.
  • Susie: Would be very interested in collaborating
  • Susie: On helping to determine the use cases and to work together on data conversion
  • Susie: Also interested in getting data providers to make data available in RDF themselves
  • Susie: So also interested in publishing a note that provides best practices for doing that
  • Susie: TMO was designed to help bridge gap between the domain silos that are focused on patients, drugs, genes, etc.
  • Susie: Is proving successful, and beginning to be adopted by pharma, payers, and healthcare
  • Susie: Also interested in creating a drug ontology
  • Susie: Work would likely need to be done in a different task
  • Susie: Focus on identifing information about a drug candidate that would enable folks to determine if they are interested in it or not
  • Susie: Would include things like target, toxicity, IP, drug structure
  • Susie: Pistoia are chasing me to do this
  • Susie: Also found someone who would want to use the ontology for a health exchange
  • Susie: I committed to identifying 60 classes by the end of May
  • Susie: Will do that and will write some background about the work
  • Susie: But ideally someone else would lead the activity
  • Susie: Could be a great area for collaborating with IU
  • Susie: Data Updates
  • Susie: Nothing from Oktie or Matthias
  • Anja: Need to do work to change 'sameAs' to 'seeAlso' links between some LODD data sets
  • Anja: Also some other data quality issues need fixing
  • Susie: Let's push discussion on mapping of experimental data questions out to a future call
  • Susie: Outreach
  • Matthias: Working on edits for TCM paper
  • Eric: LOD track at WWW was very popular, with lots of lightening talks
  • Susie: Eric will be presenting at the Linked Data track at ACS
