Clinical Trials

Proposal

There is increasing transparency about clinical trials that are being undertaken, the results that are achieved, and drugs that are on the market. ClinicalTrials.gov is a registry of federally and privately supported clinical trials conducted around the work. It describes a trial's purpose, who may participate, locations, and phone numbers. Pharmaceutical companies are increasingly making publicly available data from the results of clinical trials, for example, Lillytrials.com The FDA publishes the Orange Book which provides product information for new generic drug approvals.

However, it is difficult to perform queries that span these repositories to aid in finding all information of interest. A project could involve taking a small sub-set of data from these Web sites (perhaps focused on a compound or a therapeutic area), and to show the value of being able to query the data using SPARQL.
