IETF/W3C Liaison
This page collects general information about the liaison between the IETF and the W3C.
W3C Details
The World Wide Web Consortium is charged with "leading the Web to its full potential," and as part of that maintains several specifications that are used widely in the IETF, including HTML, the XML family of specifications, and SOAP.
The current liaison representatives of the W3C can be found in the W3C's table of liaisons.
The W3C's Process document details considerations regarding liaisons.
IETF Details
The Internet Engineering Task Force maintains most Internet "core" standards (e.g., BGP, IP, TCP, DNS) and many Web-related "application" standards (e.g., HTTP, URI, Atom).
The current liaison representatives are listed in the IETF's table of liaisons.
